Hello friends, We wanted to take a moment first to say thank you. Thank you for believing in us and for sharing in our mission of celebrating differences. Thank you for all of your support over the past 10 years. It's truly meant the world to Julia and myself that you've loved Julia's designs and the products we've created enough to not only buy them, but to keep coming back (wow!!). Talk about a really special "pinch me" moment to create things that people love enough to buy and share with their friends. It's really been an amazing experience. You rallied behind us over the years in incredible ways and we are so very grateful with every way and to every person that showed up. Being a small business is hard even under the kindest conditions and it's no secret that 2025 was a brutal year for small businesses everywhere. Knowing that you love our products and also share our vision for a kinder, more inclusive future really kept us going in the darkest of times. Entrepreneurship takes a major toll. Not only is there a lot of financial risk, but there's a lot of emotional, mental, and physical stress as well. You have to show up every day giving 100% of yourself, usually without any sort of real break. Even when you're "off the clock" your mind is still on your business. With Julia's continued, ongoing cancer treatment, she's had to take on a smaller role at Dance Happy in recent years and I've shouldered the weight of keeping the business going for both of us. But last week, I hit a real breaking point. I am so, deeply passionate about the work that I share with Julia and love what I do so much. I believe in it wholeheartedly. But I've gone beyond burnout. And as much as it breaks my heart to stop, I need to take care of myself right now. We're going to be turning off our online store on Thursday (2/5). All orders placed by then will fulfilled by 2/13 as normal. I will say candidly that at this point, I do not know if we will ever turn the store back on. There's a lot of unknowns in our futures right now, but I do know this is something we need to do. Thank you again for your unwavering support over the past decade and for being on this journey with us. We've loved celebrating differences with you and hope that maybe there's some future where we can do it again one day. We couldn't have done this with you. Thank you. ❤️ In friendship and with much love, Emily & Julia
